DR. Tufa Dinku is Senior Research Scientist at International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI), The Earth Institute, Columbia University tufa@iri.columbia.edu. Based on the institute previous communication with Dr. Tufa for future partnership. The institute and Dr. Tufa have agreed to work together in partnership. For this reason, we invited him for oral presentation and discussion on possible collaboration of future between tow sister institutes.
His presentation was on Adapting Ethiopia’s Agriculture Today for Tomorrow: Implementation of ACToday in Ethiopia at Bahir Dar University, Institute of Disaster Risk Management and Food Security Studies on July 12, 2021.
Finally, we have agreed with some action points to be done in the near future. Some of the action points are;
Short term course adaptation for collaborative education program
Organize Trainers of training for BDU IDRMFSS staff on adapted courses
Facilitate transfer of index designing skills for crop insurance mechanism from IRI to IDRMFSS
Existing IDRMFSS program support such as course offering and student advising
Explore further possible collaboration opportunities
