BNWI members meeting to revise research units and thematic areas

Some 20 members of the Blue Nile Water Institute (BNWI) gathered on 14th January, 2020 to revise the research units (also called directorates) and thematic areas in each research unit.

After stating the purpose of the meeting, Dr. Dagnachew, Director of BNWI, made a brief presentation on the current status of BNWI and some the challenges as indicated in the five-year strategic plan recently developed. Then he opened the floor for discussion on the current structure of the institute and how it should be revised to address most of the water related challenges the country faces.

After a long discussion, the members agreed to organize BNWI into five main research units each of which have several sub-units or thematic areas as indicated in the revised organogram.
