Workshop on the Chronicle of Emperior Zäré’a Ya’éqob Held at Bahir Dar University

 Bahir Dar University Press recently hosted a workshop focused on the historic Chronicle of Emperor Zäré’a Ya’éqob The chronicle documents the reign of Emperor Zera Yacob, a 15th-century ruler known for his contributions to Ethiopian governance, religion, and culture. Two distinguished scholars in Ethiopian history and theology presented in-depth reviews of the chronicle. Both of them noted the importance of the chronicle for understanding Ethiopia's rich and longstanding history. Their detailed presentations covered various aspects, including the political, social, cultural and religious dimensions captured within the chronicle, as well as its literary and historical value. 

The presenters highlighted the importance of publishing the chronicle through Bahir Dar University Press as a means to make this historical text more accessible to scholars, students, and the general public. They emphasized that publishing the chronicle would help the new generation gain a closer understanding and appreciation of Ethiopia's magnificent and enduring history, ensuring that the legacy of Emperor Zäré’a Ya’éqob is preserved for future generations.

ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርስቲ በዐፄ ዘርአ ያዕቆብ ዜና መዋዕል ላይ ዐውደ ጥናት አካሄደ። ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርስቲ በቅርቡ በታሪካዊው የዐፄ ዘርአ ያዕቆብ ዜና መዋዕል ላይ ያተኮረ ዐውደ ጥናት አካሂዷል። ዜና ማዋዕሉ የ15ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን ንጉሥ ስለነበሩት ዐፄ ዘርአ ያዕቆብ ዘመነ መንግሥት ያትታል። ንጉሡ ለኢትጵያ አስተዳደር፣ ሃይማኖትና ባህል ባበረከቱት አስተዋፆ ይታወቃሉ። ዜና መዋዕሉን በኢትዮጵያ ታሪክና ሥነ መለኮት የታዋቁ ሁለት ሊቃውንት በጥልቀት ገምግመውታል፡፡ ሊቃውንቱ ዜና መዋዕሉ የኢትዮጵያን የበለጸገና የረጅም ዘመን ታሪክ ለመረዳት ያለውን ፋይዳ አንስተዋል፡፡ 

የሊቃውንቱ ዳሠሣ በዜማ መዋዕሉ የተካተቱትን ፖለቲካዊ፣ ማኅበራዊ፣ ባህላዊና ሃይማኖታዊ ይዘቶች፣ ሥነ ጽሑፋዊና ታሪካዊ ዕሴትንም ጨምሮ የተለያዩ ጉዳዮችን ያካተተ ነው፡፡ አቅራቢዎቹ ይህንን ታሪካዊ ሰነድ ለተመራማሪዎች፣ ለተማሪዎችና ለአንባብያን ተደራሽ ይሆን ዘንድ ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርስቲ ፕሬስ ማሳታሙ አስፈላጊ መሆኑን ጠቁመዋል፡፡ የዜና መዋዕሉ ሕትመት ለአዲሱ ትውልድ የኢትዮጵያን ድንቅና ዘላቂ ታሪክ በጥንቃቄ ለመረዳት፣ ለማድነቅና ንጉሡን ትሩፋት ለቀጣዩ ትውልድ ለማቆየት ይረዳል።
