Role: Course teaching: I taught major courses such as climate change, Earlywarning system, Livelihood, Food security, Disaster risk reduction, Disaster risk management, Community-based disaster risk management, Disaster risk reduction, Disaster risk financing and insurance, Sustainable development, Sustainable agriculture, Urban risk management, Climate change adaptation, and Emergency Management

ResearchMy research interest includes but is not limited to, climate change, food security, sustainable livelihood, resilience, and sustainable urban development.

Community servicesprovisions of training to the community and the factories around Bahir Dar city. This training includes but is not limited to emergency management, community-based risk assessment, fire risk management, early warning, agricultural risk management, and Livelihood profiling.

Other duties: Curriculum review and development, national exit exam development for undergraduate students, conference organization, etc.

Leadership: I served as the Head of the Department of Disaster Risk Management and Sustainable Development at the Institute of Disaster Risk Management and Food Security Studies, Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. I supervised 28 instructors from 01 Nov. 2023- 30 Jan 2024. 

Leadership:  Focal Person for the USAID Response Leadership Activity Project, coordinating and supervising 42 individuals. From 01 Nov. 2023 to present. 

Mentor: I am a mentor of 81 under graduate disaster risk management and sustainable development students from 01 Nov. 2025 to present.
