Dear all staff member and postgraduate students of IDRMFSS and All
interested
We are pleased to announce a seminar focusing on Urban Risk Assessment: Experience in
Ethiopia.
Our institute, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission
(EDRMC) and the Fire and Disaster Risk Management Commission (FDRMC), has
successfully developed a national urban risk assessment methodology. This methodology has
been applied in comprehensive urban risk assessments for Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, and
Hawassa.
Dr. Tesfahun Assmamaw Kassie , who played a key role in all these
assessments, will be leading the presentation and sharing the recent experience of
Ethiopian urban risk assessment.
Given the national requirement for urban risk assessment in all Ethiopian cities, this
seminar is highly relevant to all IDRMFSS staff member and postgraduate
students and all interested in urban risk assuagement methodology.
