2. Biography
He is head of the Department of Gender and Development Studies, Faculty of Social Science, Bahir Dar University. He holds BA in Management and MA in Gender and Development Studies. Tenagne has served as a lecturer, researcher and trainer at both Gondar and Bahir Dar Universities. He has conducted more than seven research projects on gender, human rights and development. Moreover, he has rich experiences in training programs for women, youth and adults. He is also a consultant in social affairs in areas such as gender based violence, women’s empowerment, project evaluation, conducting baseline and rapid assessments, entrepreneurship and development research.
3. Teaching Experience
I have taught a wide range of courses at Gondar and Bahir Dar Universities, with a strong emphasis on the intersection of gender and development. My courses have included Gender and Nutrition, Gender and Health, Gender and Environment, Gender Politics and Human Rights, Gender and Ethiopian Laws, Gender and Livelihood, Project Planning and Management, Livelihood, and Gender, Agriculture, and Rural Development, among others.

- I facilitated a half-day training session for visiting faculty and students from Ohio State University (OSU) at the University of Gondar (UoG), focusing on gender issues in Ethiopia in 2018.
- I conducted a four days comprehensive Training of Trainers (ToT) on 'Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Harmful Traditional Practices (HTPs), and Gender Mainstrea
- ming' for Woreda and Zone Gender Experts and Focal Persons, organized by ANRS Women Federation in 2018.
- In 2018, I delivered a three days training on 'Gender Mainstreaming in Vocational Training Colleges' to the staff and management of Woreta Agricultural Vocational College.
- In 2021 and 2022, I conducted life skills training sessions for freshman students at Bahir Dar University.
- In 2022, I conducted a four-day capacity-building training on 'Transformative Leadership for Gender Equality' for women leaders in Mecha Woreda, Amhara Region
- In September 2021, I facilitated a comprehensive three-week training program titled 'Youth Volunteers for Sustainable Peace,' organized by the Ministry of Peace in collaboration with Bahir Dar University.
- In May 2025, I conducted a two-day training session on 'Gender and Technology' for the Bahir Dar City Female Entrepreneurship Association.
- In 2023 and 2025, I conducted a three days training sessions on 'Job Employability and Job Searching Skills' for Social Science graduate students at Bahir Dar University.

- In 2025, I organized the National Conference on 'Conflict, Gender, and Reproductive Health,' hosted by Bahir Dar University.
- I served as a member of the organizing committee for the 1st through 4th National Conferences held annually from 2021 to 2024 at Bahir Dar University, hosted by the department of Gender and Development Studies.
- I have presented research findings at various esteemed forums, including the Amhara National Regional State (ANRS) Council, FDRE House of Peoples Representatives, Children and Women Research and Practice Forum, among others, over different periods.
- I have served as a panelist in several research validation workshops organized by prominent institutions such as the Ethiopian Women Association, Women Empowerment Action, and the Amhara National Regional State (ANRS) Bureau of Women, Children, and Social Affairs.
- In 2020, I played a pivotal role in the preparation and presentation at a national-level validation workshop organized by the Ministry of Education (MoE) for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) curriculum in Gender and Development Studies.
