Teaching Experience 

Meriem have a total of eight (8) years experience at university level.

Research Interests 

The instructor have a research interest on areas of old age, child labor, migration, gender and the experience of female students, youth under difficult circumstances, mothers living in difficult circumstances…. 

 Research projects since joining Bahir Dar University

 So far, I do have a research project entitled “The Intersection of conflict, Gender, and Educational Disruption in the embattled landscape of the Amhara Region”, and “Youth in Armed Conflicts” 

 Conference Attended

 I have attended both national and international conferences held in Bahir Dar University hosted by Faculty of social science and the department of Gender and developmental studies since I joined the university.

 Publications 

I have published one research article and one book chapter entitled: It Is All about Giving Priority to Older Adults Needs: Challenges of Formal Caregivers in Two Old Age Homes in Ethiopia and Life is Hard and Getting Harder: the Experience of Aging In Ethiopia respectively. Furthermore, I have two unpublished final research paper entitled: The Practice of Child Labor: Exploring the Perception of the Community, Perpetuating Factors, Challenges and Future Prospects in Bebeka, Biftu and Tepi Coffee Plantations, South West Ethiopia. And Exploring the Psychosocial Wellbeing of Children living with their Incarcerated Mothers: The case of Mizan Aman, Bonga, and Masha Correction Centers of Bench-Sheko, Kaffa and Sheka Zones, South West Ethiopia.
