Biography
I am a Lecturer in Social Work at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia, with over seven years of experience in higher education, research, and community service. I have taught courses in social policy, migration, psychiatric social work, and counseling and previously served as a lecturer at Mizan-Tepi University. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work with a focus on Children, Youth, and Families from Addis Ababa University. My research interests include conflicts, mental health, social protection, and humanitarian interventions. I have also co-authored Ethiopia’s National Exit Examination blueprint for Social Work programs. Beyond academia, I am actively involved in peace-building, mental health support, and soft skills development. I regularly deliver training and volunteer in conflict-affected communities. Additionally, I hold certifications in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, MEAL in emergencies and humanitarian protection.
