Biography

  • I have Bachelors of Arts (BA) Degree in Social Anthropology with a CGPA of 3.64, Bahir Dar University, 2014; and Masters of Arts (MA) Degree in Social Anthropology with a CGPA of 3.80, Bahir Dar University, 2018. I have been working in Bahir Dar University starting from the position ‘graduate assistance’ since 2015 to ‘lecturer’ since 2018. 
  • I have experiences in research concerning on different social affairs including issues of gender equality, unintended pregnancy, HTPs (child marriage and FGM), migration, food security and heritage-related issues. I have engaged in different research projects and community services including training provisions; thus I have also engaged in different research projects and community services with other colleagues. I have also participated in researches out from the university as data collector and researcher.

Research interests:

I’m interested in issues of culture-related areas, gender equality, HTPs (child-marriage and FGM), migration, food security, heritage related issues, conflict and conflict resolution related issues; generally, I’m interested in any societal issues.

  • A mega research project entitled “Documentation, Conservation and Tourism Potentials of Cultural and Natural Heritages on Some Selected Sites in the Lake Tana Region”.
  • A mega research project entitled “Social Protection, Vulnerability & Gender Equality in Amhara Regional State: Policy and Practice”.
  • A mega research project entitled “Migration and Urbanization: Implications for Human Security in Amhara Regional State, Ethiopia
  • A mega research project entitled “Armed Conflict induced Gender Based Violence and Internal Displacement in Ethiopia since 2020: The Case of Amhara National Regional State”, on progress.
  • Data collection for a research concerned on “Status Of Gender Equality in ANRS”, conducted by Solution Business Consultancy and has submitted to NEWA
  • Preparation of data gathering instruments, pre-test survey, data gathering, data analysis and write-up of a research conducted by Amref Health Africa; concerned on Unintended Pregnancy, Gender Inequality and HTPs including Child Marriage and FGM
  • Kobo App. Structured survey for both Base-line and midline surveys for COMITATO INTERNAZIONALE PER LO SVILUPPO DEI POPOLI (CISP)
  • Data collection for Plan International, concerned on „Social and Gender Norm Diagnosis and Analysis‟, 2023.
  • Data collection for a research working with KIT Royal Tropical Institute, contracted by Plan International, FAWE and SAT to undertake part of the Mid-Term Review (MTR) of the Break Free! programme across nine countries, 2023.
