Biography –

 I was born on January 1, 1973 at Adet in the then Gojjam province. I completed elementary and secondary education at the same place in 1984 and 1991 respectively. I attended Diploma (1991-1993) and Degree (1997-2000) Programs in History at Bahir Dar University. I also attended MA program in History at A.A.U, 2012-202015), PhD program in History at B.D.U (2016-2021), and Higher Diploma Program at BDU (2022-2023) .

Awards and Honors – Diploma in History (1993), BED Degree in History (2000), MA in History (2015), PhD in History (2021); Higher Diploma Certificate (2023); Gold Medalist in the BED program (2000).  

Teaching Experience –Teaching at High schools (July 1993 – August 1997); Graduate Assistant and Lecturer at BDU (2000 – 2006); Teacher at Preparatory High schools (2008-2015/16) and since 2016 History Lecturer at BDU.  

Research interests  -- research in social, economic and cultural histories.

Research projects since joining BDU – 

  • Archive and Manuscript Center Project, BDU, (Member), 2019 -2022. 
  • Hawasa University led Text Book and Teacher Guide Preparation Project, Grade 11 History Secondary School Student Text Book and Teacher Guide Writer, and Distance Module Writer (2021- 2023).
