Short Biography
Mr. Adissu Getahun Adugna is a career-wise academic and research laboratory practitioner whose research focuses on advancing rechargeable battery technologies, a field critical for the widespread adoption of renewable energy storage. He holds an M.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering and a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry. His professional experience roles as a research assistant at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University. Currently, he is serving as a senior technical assistant at the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering, where he provides essential research and academic laboratory services for undergraduate and postgraduate students, staff researchers, and technical testing for external clients on demand. Mr. Adissu’s specific research is dedicated to developing efficient electrocatalyst materials, optimizing battery cell design and device architecture, and employing effective bandgap engineering specifically through doping and twinning opposite-ended conductive materials to develop high-density energy storage electrodes with significantly enhanced charge transfer kinetics.
