Background

With the growing expansion of higher education in Ethiopia, equitable access, relevance, quality, efficiency, and good governance have become important areas of concern for higher education institutions around the country. In addition to addressing these priority areas on an ongoing basis, Bahir Dar University is also aiming to become one of the top research universities in Africa by 2017 E.C. (2025 G.C.).Meeting this goal requires a massive investment in the university’s human resource.

The Center for Capacity Building Programs, which was originally established by the name of Academic Development and Research Center (ADRC) in 2002 E.C.(2009 G. C.), continues to support this effort by improving the competence of the academic and administrative staff.
