- Haramaya University, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Dire Dawa, Ethiopia (September 2008 - June 30, 2023): Over nearly 15 years, I advanced through various academic ranks, beginning as a Graduate Assistant and culminating as an Assistant Professor. My responsibilities encompassed a diverse array of teaching, research, and administrative duties.
- Bahir Dar University (Since June 30, 2023): I have continued my academic journey as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics. My ongoing responsibilities include teaching, research, and contributing to the academic community at Bahir Dar University.
- Teaching Experiences: I delivered a comprehensive suite of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These included Natural Resource and Environmental Economics, Economics of Climate change, Development Economics, Econometrics, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Agricultural Value Chain Development, Production Economics, and Stata Software Application for postgraduate studies. Additionally, I taught Agriculture and Food Policy Analysis, Agricultural Marketing, International Trade and Finance, Project Planning and Analysis, Mathematics for Economists, Rural Finance, Introduction to Agribusiness Management, and Small-Scale Business and Entrepreneurship.
- Research and project Experiences: I actively participated in numerous research initiatives, contributing to the development of institutional frameworks for Pluralistic Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services (PAEAS) and exploring strategies to transition emerging commercial smallholder farmers and pastoralists towards agricultural investments. My research also included Formal and Informal Economy, Including the Agricultural Sector for Women's Economic Empowerment in Ethiopia; a chickpea value chain analysis and a baseline survey as part of a collaboration with the Ethiopian Economic Association on Sustainable Healthy Diets through Food Systems Transformation (SHiFT), funded by CGIAR. Other notable projects involved the Value Chain Development for Food Security in the Context of Climate Change- a Contribution through Strengthening Capacity in Higher Education in Eastern Africa financed by EU worked with Humbuld University, Haramaya University and Nairobi University which have filed work experience in Kenya around Lake victory which mainly focuses of smallholder organic farming value chain.
- Advising and evaluating postgraduate students: Throughout my tenure, I have supervised over 42 MSc students and advised 5 PhD; Boar of examined more than 50 MSc students.
