Paper Submission Guidelines for the 9th International Sports Science Conference, hosted by the Sport Academy, Bahir Dar University

We are pleased to announce the 9th International Sport Science Research Conference at Bahir Dar University Sport Academy, taking place on May 24-25, 2025. This prestigious event will bring together scholars, researchers, and professionals worldwide to share insights and advancements in sports science, physical education, and sustainable development. The paper submission guidelines are below.

  1. Paper Format
  • Paper Language: English
  • Page Size: A4 (210 x 297 mm)
  • Margins: Top: 2.5 cm, Bottom: 2.5 cm, Left: 2.5 cm, Right: 2.5 cm
  • Font Type: Times New Roman
  • Font Size
    • Title: 16 pt, Bold, Centered
    • Author(s): 12 pt, Italic, Centered
    • Abstract: 12 pt, Normal
    • Body Text: 12 pt, Normal
    • Headings: 14 pt, Bold
  • Line Spacing: 1.5 lines
  • Paragraph Indentation: 0.5 inches (1.27 cm)
  • Text Alignment: Justified
  • Page Numbering: Bottom center of each page
  • Total Length of the paper: Maximum of 8-12 pages (including references, figures, tables, etc.)
  1. Title Page
  • Title: The title of your paper should be concise and descriptive.
  • Author(s): List the names of all authors, affiliations, and email addresses. 
    • Example:
      Abebe Kebede (1),  Ali Kedir (2)
      (1) Department of Sports Science, Bahir Dar University 
      (2) Department of Physical Education, Addis Ababa University
      Corresponding Author: Abebe Kebede (email@example.com)
  • Abstract: Provide a brief summary (150–250 words) of the research, including the purpose, methodology, findings, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: List 3-5 keywords relevant to your paper.
  1. Abstract
  • Font Size: 12 pt
  • Text Alignment: Justified
  • The abstract should be a concise description of the research, covering: 
    • Research objectives
    • Methods used
    • Results/findings
    • Conclusions

The abstract should not exceed 250 words and must not contain any references or citations.

  1. Paper Body
  • Introduction: Provide background information, research question, and objectives.
  • Methodology: Describe the research design, participants, instruments, data collection methods and method of data analysis.
  • Results/Findings: Present key findings with appropriate data (tables, figures, graphs) and analyses.
  • Discussion: Analyze the results, compare with existing studies, and discuss implications.
  • Conclusion: Summarize key findings, limitations, and suggestions for future research.
  1. Figures and Tables
  • All figures and tables should be clearly labelled.
  • Position: Tables and figures should be placed within the body of the paper, close to the first reference to them.
  • Size: Ensure figures and tables are legible in print (do not exceed the page margins).
  • Caption: Use a short, descriptive caption for each figure and table.
  1. References
  • Citation Style: Use APA (7th Edition) citation style for in-text citations and references.
  • Reference List: At the end of the paper, provide a full list of references alphabetically. 
    • Example:
      Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of the article. Title of the Journal, Volume(Issue), page range. https://doi.org/xx.xxx
  1. Ethics and Originality
  • All submitted papers must be original and not under review elsewhere.
  • Papers should include a statement confirming the ethical considerations, such as participant consent (if applicable) and approval from an ethics committee.
  1. Submission Process
  • Prepare your manuscript: Ensure your paper follows all formatting guidelines.
  • Submit your manuscript: Upload your manuscript here through the official submission portal or via email: sport.academy@bdu.edu.et.
  • Confirmation Email: Upon successful submission, you will receive a confirmation email with details of your submission.
  • Review Process: All papers will be reviewed by a panel of experts. Accepted papers will be notified and invited for presentation at the conference.
  • Submission Deadline: April 5, 2025
