Research Interests: Mulugeta's research interests span geophysics, hydrogeophysics, and environmental geophysics, with a particular focus on groundwater exploration, hydrogeophysical investigations, geothermal exploration, mineral exploration, and geotechnical investigations using geophysical techniques. He applies integrated geophysical techniques for resource exploration and subsurface investigations, modeling subsurface geological features using geophysical software and open-source programming languages such as Python and R. His expertise includes geophysical data analysis, the application of machine learning for geophysical data processing and interpretation, and the development of mini-software packages tailored to specific geophysical data processing and interpretation needs. Mulugeta has extensive experience and a strong interest in rock and mineral physics, petrophysical data analysis, and utilizing these results as constraints for surface and borehole geophysical data modeling. His work aims to minimize uncertainties in subsurface modeling through advanced geophysical methods and computational approaches.
Teaching Areas: Mulugeta’s teaching experience includes geophysics, exploration geophysics, hydrogeophysics, research methods, and mathematical methods in geophysics and physics. He has also taught environmental earth sciences, senior research projects, drilling techniques, and borehole geophysical techniques for groundwater exploration. His expertise extends to radiometric methods, electrical and electromagnetic techniques, gravity and magnetic methods, as well as ground-penetrating radar techniques. He has delivered lectures and practical sessions at the BSc, MSc, and PhD levels. Additionally, he has conducted seminars for PhD programs and taught advanced hydrogeophysics courses for PhD students.

I have a proven track record in managing research projects, leading geophysical laboratory teams, and delivering specialized training in advanced geophysics topics. My expertise lies in applying integrated geophysical techniques for groundwater assessment, environmental management, and shallow subsurface exploration. I have successfully executed complex geophysical projects, providing expert consulting in groundwater exploration, geotechnical investigations, mining geophysics, environmental
monitoring, and sustainable water management. Additionally, I offer consultancy in geophysical project design, water well drilling, and

- Awarded the highest honor of "Summa Cum Laude" during the presentation of my PhD thesis in May 2022.
- Received the "Early Career Scientist's Travel Support"; for presenting a paper at the EGU General Assembly 2019.
- First-place award for paper presentation at the 10 th International Conference, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Romanian Student Chapter, held in Ploiesti, Romania, in 2018.
- Awarded the Stipendium Hungarian scholarship in 2016, which facilitated my pursuit of a PhD degree with one-year extension at a university of Szeged, Hungary.
