    Biography

    Dr. Kerebih is an associate professor of Social Work and Social Development in Faculty of Social Sciences, Bahir Dar University.   He received PhD at Addis Ababa University in Social Work and Social Development with specialized research in Women’s Social Networks, Use of Skilled Birth Attendants and Quality of Delivery Services. Dr. Kerebih also had MSc in Demography with specialized research on Roles of Micro-credits on Women’s Empowerment and Reproductive Behavior. .He has been involved in various research activities including Existing Legal and Policy Frameworks, Initiatives, Service Delivery and Lessons that create Cross-sectoral Coordination Platform related to Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health, Inclusiveness of Persons with disabilities in Agri-business Induced Growth Program in Amhara Region, Inclusiveness of the Labor Market in Ethiopia, Impacts of Urban Expansion on the Livelihoods of Rural-urban Fringe Residents in ‘Mega Cities’ of Ethiopia, Major Harmful Traditional Practices  and Violence Against Women in Amhara Region,  Gender Socialization in Amhara Region, and others. Dr. Kerebih also has coordinated the successive graduate tracer studies at national level in 2018, 2020, and 2022. Currently, he is serving as an Associate Professor of Social Work and Social Development in the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences, Bahir Dar University. He is teaching different courses including Human Behavior and Social Environment, Social Protection and Policy Analysis, Quantitative Research Methods, and Qualitative Research Methods for post graduate students at Social Work Department.

  •  In addition, Dr. Kerebih had professional positions at different hierarchies of Bahir Dar University: 15 Nov. 2018 to present, he is serving as Director of the Deliverology Unit; September 2015 to September 2017-  Head, Social Work Department; March 2008 to December 2009 -   Head,  Geography and Environmental Studies Department.
