  1. Biography

Dr. Aynalem Girma Beyene is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Ethiopian Languages and Literature – Amharic at Bahir Dar University, with nearly two decades of teaching experience. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Amharic major and English minor from Bahir Dar University, and her MA and PhD degrees in Linguistics from Addis Ababa University. In addition to teaching, she serves as Course Chair and Senior Editor at BDU Press, and has coordinated the department’s Distance Education programs. She holds several professional certifications, including Higher Diploma in Teaching Profession, Text Editing, Translation Service, Peace Education in Higher Education, Training in Higher Education Leadership, and Online Master Class Training. She is also engaged in community service, including translation, text editing, linguistic data review and text book evaluation.

  1. Teaching Experience 

 

Dr. Aynalem Girma Beyene is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics at Bahir Dar University, Faculty of Humanities, in the Department of Ethiopian Languages and Literature – Amharic. She has nearly two decades of teaching experience, having instructed a wide range of courses and supervised various student research projects.

 

  1. Research interests

She is highly interested in linguistic research on Afro-Asiatic languages, with a particular focus on Ethiopian Semitic and Cushitic languages. Her research explores language structure, media language use, and pragmatics contributing to a deeper understanding and advancement of the country’s linguistic heritage.
