Bachelor of Education in English Language and Literature

Description of the Program:

This program is designed to train effective English Language teachers that can fill the gap of trained language teachers at secondary school level. It aims to provide students and/or trainees with a profound understanding and use of the English language, language teaching, literature and how to teach language. The program incorporates courses of English language skills, linguistics, literature, communication skills and research. The delivery and other pedagogical approaches of each course are also presented one by one with the required format of a harmonized curriculum.

Eligibility criteria:

Entry to the department would require: 

a) successful completion of the preparatory program;

b) a satisfactory result in the higher education entrance examination;

c) a good background of English language;

d) a CGPA of 2.00 and above in the diploma program for advanced standing    students from any recognized institution; and

e)  satisfying the general admission requirements of the university.

Annual intake:

40-60 students per section (two sections)
