Objectives of the DPFRC

1.    To produce applied and basic research outputs in diplomacy and foreign policy that will contribute to defending and realizing the national interests of Ethiopia.
2.    To execute public diplomacy tasks offered by the government of Ethiopia so as to produce vibrant public diplomats
3.    To make Bahir Dar University the center for the diplomacy and foreign policy training and research activities to contribute to the country’s peace, development and prosperity.
4.    To (de)construct narratives targeting/helpful to/ Ethiopia
5.    To provide pieces of trainings for potential diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia
6.    To contribute a policy brief and consultancy services in the area of foreign policy and diplomacy
7.    To develop an information resource center on the research, development, and policy aspects of foreign policy and diplomacy
8.    To organize national and international events (conferences, workshops, panel discussions, webinars, public lectures, and so on) on the diplomacy and foreign policy areas.
9.    To provide community services in the areas of diplomacy and foreign policy
10.    To be the hub of internship for students and researchers in the area of diplomacy and foreign policy
