Chief Clinical Director(CCD) Office

Introduction

The administration of the Office is led by the Chief Clinical Director (CCD) Dr. Zebenay Bitew.

 Powers, Duties and Responsibilities Chief Clinical Director (CCD)

1.  Is accountable to the CED.
2. Forms the executive management team with the CED, CARD, CABD, CBESD, and necessary units of the hospital.
3. The CCD should have a diverse set of leadership and management skills, as well as considerable health care/hospital experience as a clinician with some management expertise.
4. The CCD plans and coordinates the activities of the clinical departments and units of the hospital to render quality medical services and education.
5. The CCD ensures the recruitment and retention of a qualified work force that enables the hospital to discharge its activities.
6. The CCD establishes mechanisms to measure the quality of care and programs for improved levels of quality.
7. The CCD oversees compliance with relevant government regulations in regard to quality service and patient safety.
8. The CCD interacts with the CARD, CBESD and CABD to facilitate the clinical services, teaching and research undertaken in the hospital.
9. Participate in the college standing committees (The Academic Standards and Curriculum Review Committee (ASCRC), The staff Recruitment, Appointment and Promotion Committee (SRAPC), The Research, Development and Publication Committee (RDPC), The Library and ICT Development Committee (LICTDC), , and the Admissions and Placement Committee (APC), Hospital Management Team Committee (HMT) and varied hospital committees) as appropriate;
10. The CCD forms a senior management team for the Hospital comprised of heads of clinical departments, nursing coordinator, coordinators‟ of outpatient service, emergency service & critical care , inpatient service, health promotion & disease promotion, laboratory, Radiology and Imaging, pharmacy and hospital quality committee, Physiotherapy & rehabilitation service and representative of Finance and administration and any other leader deemed necessary.
11. The senior management committee chaired by the CCD sets up different committees to facilitate operation and smooth decision making.
12. The CCD in collaboration with CARD, CBESD, RDD and CABD shall oversee the practical training, research and clinical services provided in the hospital.
13. Uses the University legislation and Federal Hospital Management Guideline for workflow.
14. Shall undertake other activities assigned by the CED as appropriate
