Sileshi Andualem (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor of Plant Biotechnology at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. He has joined the university since 2009 as a lecturer at the Department of Biology, College of Science. Currently he is serving the university as vice director for the Institute of Biotechnology. He has been involved in delivering lectures for courses including Principles of Genetics, Molecular Biology, Evolution, Biochemistry, and Fundamentals of Biotechnology; advising undergraduate and postgraduate students; and conducting research and community service activities in the area of crop breeding and biotechnology.
His previous research focuses on plant improvement, plant germplasm conservation, and plant tissue culture. His research interest is on climate-smart crop breeding and indigenous plant genetic resource conservation.
