Radar Science Unit (RSU)

The main research focus of the radar system optimization unit is mainly on developing different kinds of modulation and demodulation waveforms, optimal radar signal processing methods, which include Bayesian inversion technique and adaptive filtering. Also, the unit is involved in the analysis of methods of GPS data and implementation of a software defined radio technology for various applications. 

Space and Atmospheric Sciences Unit (SASU)

This unit works on two part of the Earth's atmosphere; the equatorial lower atmosphere and the upper atmosphere. The research by the lower atmopshere group focuses on understanding what drives the Ethiopian climate with a major emphasis on the drivers of precipitation using weather radar, raingauage and satellite observations.
