Brief Biography:

Mr. Alebachew Birhanu got his LLB degree from Addis Ababa University, LLM in Information and Communication Technology from University of Oslo, and M.Phil in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from University of Oslo.

Soon after graduation from AAU, he joined the then Department of Law of Bahir Dar University in 2003 as Assistant Graduate II. Since then, he has given various legal courses in the undergraduate program and now in the postgraduate program. He has also served in different administrative posts including Vice Dean of the then Law Faculty, Summer-Distance Education Coordinator, Member of the Academic Council, Editor-in-chief of Bahir Dar University Journal of Law, Research and Community Service Coordinator, and now Director of the School.

Besides, he has conducted various research on different issues and rendered free legal aid services to the indigent through the Legal Aid Center of the School.
