Bahir Dar University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers undergraduate and graduate programs that emphasize the fundamentals of electrical and computer engineering and enable graduates to enter the workforce with confidence. Undergraduate curricula are offered that lead to Bachelor of Science degrees in electrical engineering or computer engineering. Both degrees are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering. Masters level programs are offered that led to Master of science degrees in Power system Engineering, Communication Engineering, Control Engineering and Computer Engineering with by high level staff members. The department takes pride in producing well-rounded, professionally competent graduates. Mission StatementThe mission of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Bahir Dar University is to provide quality undergraduate and graduate education in the areas of electrical and computer engineering to enhance the competitiveness of our graduates in the job market and contribute to the economic, scientific, and social development of Ethiopia and the whole nation. The department will maintain a positive academic environment that promotes excellence in learning and research through constructive interaction between students, faculty, staff, industry, and community. The department will use available resources to instill state-of-the-art technical knowledge and research capabilities; to encourage critical thinking, problem solving skills, and ethical responsibility; and to develop students' verbal and written communication skills.
