Bahir_Dar University is one of a well known universities in Ethiopia which consists of six Bands namely Agriculture & land, Natural & computational Science, Social science, Engineering and Technology, Business & Economics & Medical and Health Science. Under a university there are four colleges, three faculties, five schools and two institutes. A university has 870 instructors (first degree & above) and 45,594 students (regular, extension, summer distance & post graduate) and the ratio of instructors to students is 1:21.
