Courses of the programme can be grouped into common/related courses (such as Language, Civics and Ethics, Quantitative Methods which in aggregate account 16% of the total), major courses (constitute 56% of the total) focus on key areas of the accounting principles, finance, auditing marketing, risk, insurance etc and minor courses (28% of the total) which by and large focus on a number of management courses.

A candidate who is eligible for graduation in Accounting and Finance must:

2. Economics Programme

Programme objective
The overall objective of the programme is to train qualified experts in the field of Economics in accordance with the country’s need of trained workforce. The department is committed to support the development effort of the nation through viable economic research, training and organizing in-depth policy forums & dialogues.
External link and Partnership
The department of Economics has started to establish a strong link with other organizations which are of notably important to scale up the profile of the department. Foremost is the Ethiopian Economic Association (EEA). The Department is a home for EEA, Bahir Dar chapter. In collaboration with the EEA and the Amhara Region Planning and Economic Development Bureau, department of Economics has successfully undertaken three annual conferences on the Amhara Region Economic Development. The department has also established academic and research collaboration with Courant research center of the Gottingen University.

The three years programme by and large focuses on major areas such as theories and principles of Economics, policy courses, growth & development curses, quantitative and statistics courses which are paramount important for analysis and empirical measurement of economic variables. Students will also be introduced with preliminary accounting and management principles.

The programme seeks to train competent and professionally qualified personnel for both governmental & non-governmental organizations and researchers in the areas of logistics and supply chain management activities. The department also envisages to provide consultancy, research and community service along with its training objective.

Duration of the study requires three years. Students will be acquainted with a variety of logistics and supply chain management courses that give due concentration to procurement management, inventory management, warehouse management, material management, transport management and production/operation management. Related courses such as Accounting, Management and Economics course are also given.
