Teaching & Learning

The courses in the College are delivered in three ways: through lecture, field/laboratory practical studies, and in the form of home study. Home assignments are given either individually or in the form of group work. Most instructors give individual and group assignments and usually send their regular and extension students to the nearby research stations, development organizations with a view to enable them acquire the necessary skills and knowledge.

Interactive teaching-Learning processes whereby students get opportunities to reflect on issues being taught are being persuaded and highly encouraged. Evaluation of students is done based on continuous assessment modes whereby all assignments and practical works are being evaluated and given points. Mid-exam was dismantled from the Academic Calendar of the University to encourage continuous assessment evaluation.

A student has to pass in all forms of course delivery. Grading policy is based on scale which will be changed to fixed system soon. The scale ranges from A to F. The passing mark for the BSc and MSc programs is D and C grades, respectively. A student with F grade for undergraduate program and more than one C for MSc program is not eligible for graduation. A Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2:00 and 3:00 is required to finish the BSc and MSc Program, respectively.
