FACULTY RECEIVES BOOKS FROM NORDIC AFRICA INSTITUTE
BDU: In an enhanced academic interaction, the Faculty of Social Sciences received book donations from the Nordic Africa Institute of Sweden.
The effort was made possible by Kalewongel Minale, a lecturer of Civics and Ethical Studies in the Faculty, and currently a PhD candidate in Italy.
While commending Kalewongel’s efforts, the Faculty Dean, Abebe Dires said the books were quite current and relevant to students who are pursuing Civics and Ethics Courses adding that they would further help minimise the shortage of reference materials for students.
He appreciated Kalewongele’s commitment to the cause of prolific education and social science research and congratulated him for over all achievement in facilitating and making arrangements to bring the books from Sweden.
Molla Ababu, BDU’s Vice President for Information and Strategic Communication appealed to other Ethiopians who either studied, or were studying abroad to emulate Kalewongele’s cause and strive to create partnership between BDU and the Universities they graduated from. He advised them to adopt best practices with the view to enhance BDU’s operations in teaching, research and community services.
During the function, Abebe handed over 24 books to the Postgraduate Library representative on the behalf of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
