US PROFESSORS, STUDENTS VISIT BAHIR DAR UNIVERSITY
BDU: Professors and students from St. Mary’s College in America recently visited Bahir Dar University (BDU) on academic tour.
While welcoming the visitors, BDU’s Vice President for Information and Strategic Communication, Molla Ababu, who also made it possible for the visitors to interact with his University’s Academic staff and students briefed them on Ethiopia’s Higher Education System, and especially the University’s programmes.
The objective of such an interaction was so as to gain new experience, enhance intercultural competence of Staff and Students, and to produce culturally competent graduates who could fit the globalized economy.
The visit furthermore availed them an opportunity to have first hand understanding of the country (Ethiopia) and the University’s operations in particular in areas of teaching, community service, student-professors relation, and various extramural students’ teams working on campus.
During the tour, the group also visited newly built Stadium and the Maritime Academy of the University.
