The Research and Community Services V/President Office, BDU is pleased to notify that the Ethiopian Journal of Science and Technology (EJST), Vol. VI, No. 1 is online now and the office invites those interested to visit the university Web site

Call for Proposal, MSc Research Grant 2013

ISSD Ethiopia is accepting applications to award MSc Thesis Research grant for MSc students in the following thematic areas:

  1. Seed Marketing
  2. Seed and farmers’ behavior
  3. Seed Entrepreneurship
  4. Seed Cooperatives Business Model
  5. Seed Policy
  6. Seed Quality Control
  7. Seed and Gender
  8. Improved Seed Impact studies

Location

The research work will be attached to operational areas of ISSD Program based at Bahir Dar University in Amhara, Haramaya University and Oromia Seed Enterprise in Oromia, Hawassa University in SNNPR and Mekele University in Tigray.

Number of grants

For 2012/2013 academic year a total of 14 MSc grants will be made available.

Amount of grant

Each successful candidate will receive a maximum grant of ETB 30,000.

Applicants

Applicants are those graduate students currently registered and more likely finish their course work by June 2013 at Bahir Dar University, Haramaya University, Hawassa University and at Mekele University and pursuing their MSc/MA in such programs like agricultural economics, agribusiness and value chain development, cooperatives, agricultural marketing, agricultural extension and law and policy.

Important deadlines

Concept note submission: Eligible candidates are required to submit concept note by April 10, 2013.
