The English Language Improvement center is finalizing the paper work on matters the center is planning to put to ground in the near future.

According to Dr. Sefa Meka, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, BDU, the English Language Improvement Center is one of the recently established centers at department level because it is believed that English Language improvement at different levels is one of the pivotal areas the Ministry has identified as requiring major intervention. In addition to the attention given to the matter, the wealth of language experts in the Faculty has made the realization of the intervention possible. To this effect, the center has been working on curriculum development and training manual preparation in which PhD holders in the Department of English Language and Literature participated. The center aims at giving language proficiency trainings to different target groups including teachers at different levels. The center will be able to issue certificates witnessing the English Language proficiency levels of the trainee graduates.
