Humanities to launch BA in Chinese Language

Faculty of Humanities has disclosed its plan to launch undergraduate BA Degree program in Chinese Language.

Dr. Dawit Amogne, dean of  faculty of humanities, in the discussion held today at the faculty, has said that the program will begin in mid 2018.

Also in the discussion, Dr. Li Yaohui, director of Confucius Institute at Addis Ababa University, Directer Li, has said that apart from teaching Chinese Language, the institute will also work its best to link Chinese Language class room students to different chinese companies operating in Ethiopia.

It was indicated, during the discussion,that Chinese language will also be offered as an elective course to undergraduate students in the university.

As part of the discussion,a group led by, Dr. Li Yaohui, director of Confucius Institute at Addis Ababa University, has held talks with Dr. Bayile Damte,president and Ato Embiale Beyene, Representative of the office of Vice President of Academic Affaiirs of Bahir Dar University about the possible collaborations to the success of the program. The group has also visited the Chinese Language class rooms and three campuses of the university.

"The Confucius Institute will expand the Chinese Language teaching by maximizing the number of teachers and class rooms." Directer Li says.

The Institute will also supply audio and video materials to the class rooms. Dr. Dawit, on his part has expressed the faculty's commitment to the success of the program by securing class rooms and offices to the teachers of the class room.

The Confucius Institute has been training Chinese Language to students, teachers and others interested staff of the university since 2014.
