Joined Bahir Dar University, Faculty of Humanities in 1980. He is a teaching staff member of the department of English Language and Literature. Dr. Tesfaye took his Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Arts in Literature from Addis Ababa University. He has also Master of Education in Language Education from Southampton University, England. He studied his doctoral degree in Literature at the University of----------, India.
He taught various courses such as Sophomore English; Fundamentals of Literature; African Literature; World Literature; Literary Theory; African Literature; an Literature in Language Teaching.
He has a research area interest in Literature in language teaching, Theories of literature, and African Literature. He has published works on: A Model for Integrating Literature and Language Teaching in Ethiopia: The EFL Journal Vol.4 No.2, and From Disillusionment to Protest: Press by Haile Selassie I University Students: African Journal of History and Culture Vol.7, No. 8. Moreover, Dr. Tesfaye has an expertise on writing in which he excels at.
