Humanities New English Laboratory Computerized

BDU: The New English Laboratory Three (NL3) at the Faculty of Humanities at Bahir Dar University has been computerized.
The Laboratory was upgraded from digital to computerization. The Faculty Dean, Dr.Girma Wossenie, noted that the previous digital system lacked visual input pointing out that the installation of computerized systems with more than 48 computers networked with intranet and connected to World Wide Web would tremendously reduce the challenges of teaching English, as well as enhances skills and knowledge of students and improves  their proficiency .
Dr. Girma noted that the Language Laboratory not only improved oral (listening, spoken and advanced spoken) skills of students but was also an instrument that enabled students to actively participate in the process of teaching and learning which were ignored in the digital system.

“Besides being used to improve language competence of students, it would be an important resource room for the university to conduct Information Communication Technology based training whenever it needed,” he added.

According to Dr.Girma, the Faculty envisages to upgrade New English Laboratory Two (NL2).
