BiT’s science and technology venture

BDU:Science and technology have undoubtedly transformed the world in an unprecedented level. Guided by the light of innovation, humanity has witnessed the current age of science and technology.

This fact seems to have been recognized by Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BiT) which has recently held its second international conference on the advancements of science and technology.

Different scholars and high-ranking government officials have participated in the conference; scientific papers were presented and plenary sessions were made. Various issues pertaining to the underlying theme have been discussed.

Based on the research conducted in connection to mobile users who have installed android applications, age and physical character specific exercises have been recommended.

Critical issues on adopting security solutions to mobile government (m-government) using cost-effective infrastructure have been dealt with.

It has been indicated that considering the new technique of fuzzy logic controller as an extension to the existing control method, not as their replacement, provides an extra set of tools which the control engineer has to learn how to use where it makes sense.

The Nile hydro-politics within the context of northeastern African geopolitics has been discussed.

Issues ranging from landscape intervention in the humid Ethiopian highlands, pollution in agricultural water shade and gully development processes in Ethiopian highland were entertained.

Solid emission on Lake Tana, biophysical and financial impacts of community-based gully rehabilitation, low flow assessment in the upper Blue Nile basin, estimation of ground water recharge in arid and semi-arid areas as well as soil and water conservation were among the major points discussed during the conference.

Health related issues in Ethiopian garment industry, Ethiopian airlines’ domestic flight sales forecasting, improving productivity in manufacturing companies and optimization of butterfly vale disc were also discussed.

Development and evaluation of low cost evaporation coolers, dimensioning and planning LTE radio networks, improved classification of algorithm for large dataset, measurement in optical fiber communications, large scale storage and future power grid and solar powered mobile medical clinics were dealt with.
