Genetic characterization of biological resources for proper management and utilization

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Molecular data generation and analysis: DNA extraction, DNA quantity and quality analysis (using Nano Drop Spectrophotometer and agarose gel electrophoresis), Genotyping using SSR markers; data analysis using STRUCTURE, GenAlEx, Arlequin, FSTAT, PERMUT, etc.

Cytogenetic data generation and analysis: Sample preparation from animals and plants for chromosome analysis, metaphase slide preparation, chromosome staining and banding, microscopic analysis of chromosomes, Karyotyping, etc.

Basic software applications: Microsoft office Word, Excel, Power point, Access; SPSS.
