First national conference on Science held

While welcoming guests at the conference, The Dean Dr.Essey Kebede noted that the conference would serve his college to motivate staff to engage in academic dialogue and to cultivate problem solving research culture. “The conference could help participants to identify current philosophies, recent developments and challenges in the basic science fields, ’’ said Dr.Essey.

He also talked about the growth and massive program diversification going on in his College.

PhD on the pipeline

Dr.Essey in his welcoming speech underlined that his college has finalized preparation to launch PhD course in Mathematics (in four specialization areas) in September 2013.

Speaking at the same conference, BDU’s President Dr.Baylie Damtie emphasized on the essence of science and its significance for Ethiopia.

Keynote address

During the occasion, Director General of Environmental Protection Authority Dr.Tewldebirhan G/Egziabher spoke on the core meaning of science, its historical emergence and the unforeseen hazards it may cause to participants.

Distinguished Speakers

The conference was given a massive boost by the speech and intellectual contribution of Director General of Environmental Protection Authority Dr.Teweldebirhan G/egziabher, Professor Emeritus Ermias Dagne, Professor Gezahegn Yirgu,Professor Biruk Lemma,Dr.Semu Mitiku.

According to participants, The Three (IoTEX , IoT and Education Faculty) held world class conferences in May and Science College has also  freshly added the fourth feather to BDU’s pride by successfully organizing a shining conference.

It was learnt that 35 research papers and 5 plenary lectures were presented to participants.
