Comprehensive Humanitarian logistics, procurement and Materials management training was delivered in Bahir Dar and Jigjiga

In Ethiopia, as in other parts of the world, the industrial working culture has changed greatly in recent years. Trained personnel rather than unskilled manpower are very sought after. Certification and technical know-how is mandatory in the technical field and industry. Bahir Dar University as a model university has already started industry link program with stake holders who are the prospective accommodators of students up on graduation. Training students and employees upon requirements of labor market enhance the competitiveness and productivity of industries which ultimately accelerate the development endeavor of the country which is the primary objective of Bahir Dar University. To this end, Bahir Dar University, College of Business and Economics, Logistics and Supply chain Management department (LSCM) has been teaching students in Logistics and Supply chain management program.

In addition to the teaching learning process, to achieve the country development objective LSCM program starts to put in unreserved effort to increase the productivity and competitiveness of manufacturing industry by conducting research, providing training and professional support in the area operation management, inventory and quality control system, logistics and transportation management, procurement and materials management, port operation and management, strategic supply chain and international trade. In line with this objective Logistics and Supply Chain management department has been delivering training to public, private and Non government and government organizations. In 2006 E.C the department has successfully delivered two comprehensive training. The first training was given for World Food Program (WFP) employees on Humanitarian Logistics and Transportation management held from December 7-20, 2014 in Jigjiga. The second training was delivered to Amhara Forestry Enterprise (AFE) employees on Procurement and Materials Management held from June-16-20, 2014 in Bahir Dar. Now Logistics and Supply Chain management department has working restlessly by strengthening such delighted start up to achieve its establishment mission.
