Department of Psychiatry Held Virtual Master’s Thesis Defense Sessions

The Department of Psychiatry in College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Bahir Dar University conducted Master’s Thesis defense sessions virtually on 11th August, 2020. The sessions mark the first virtual defenses in the history of College of Medicine and Health Sciences. There were 2 online sessions at a time and external examiners were invited from University of Gondar, Jimma University and Mekelle University, institutions which have been running a similar program. All students defended their theses successfully. As compared to the traditional in-person face-to-face modality of defense, the virtual platform was found to be easier, interactive, and advantageous, especially during such times of crises as the coronavirus pandemic.
