Comprehensive Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Training of Trainers Conducted

The Research Directorate, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, has prioritized research practices among its staff in its contribution towards achieving the vision of being one of the premier research Universities in Africa.

In this endeavor, staff capacity building is one of the activities to create capable researchers. Systematic Review and Meta-analysis is one of the areas identified as important gap among staff researchers in the annual meeting.

The office has arranged international trainer linked to international centers in the field. The Ethiopian center for such training has supported with one trainer and high quality training was conducted at the Center for Language Development, Paeda Campus, Bahir Dar University.

The training that was conducted from October 23-27, 2017 included the following modules that are international standard:

Module_0001: Introduction to Evidence Based Healthcare and the Systematic Review of Evidence

Module_0002: The Systematic Review of Evidence Generated through Quantitative Research: meta-analysis

Module_0003: The Systematic Review of Evidence Generated by Qualitative Research, Narrative, and Text

The 20 participants included senior researchers, Doctor of Philosophy fellows at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
