Background

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) has been established in October 2007 as one of the autonomous colleges in Bahir Dar University with an objective of training competent medical doctors and other health professionals. The college is made up of School of Medicine, School of Public Health, Department of Nursing, and Department of Midwifery. Currently the college offers about 4 undergraduate degree and 12 postgraduate programs.  The college has hosts 317 academic staff working at different academic ranks, and 194 administrative staff. The College currently hosts 2202 undergraduate and graduate students both in regular and Continuing Education Program (CEP).
