Urology subspeciality graduates successfully defend their theses.

(December 22, 2023): The first batch of Urology subspeciality program gradutes at College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Bahir Dar University, successfully defended today their theses.

One of the felllows, Dr. Mequanint Yimer presented his research titled 'Prevalence and factors associated with postoperative chronic pain among adult patients who undergone flank surgery at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital.'

The other fellow, Dr. Abebe Assaye, defended his research work on 'Determinant  of post-transurethral resection of the prostate acute urinary retention at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital, Bahir Dar University, Northwest Ethiopia: Unmatched case control study.'

The fellows had been advised by both public health and clinical profesdionals. Professor Netsanet Fentahun, MPH, PhD and Dr. Getachew Wondim (MD, urologist) had advised them.

As an internal examiner, Dr. Nebiyu Shitaye, senior pediatric Surgon, evaluated their studies.

The external examiner was  Dr. Mulusew Andualem, Associate Professor of Public Health.

It is to be recalled that both graduates had successfully completed their qualifying examination in General Urology a couple of months ago.

The college extends its heartfelt congratulations to the graduates on their remarkable achievement and wishes all a successful career ahead.
