Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital performs its first voice prosthesis insertion surgery.

(December 3, 2023, Bahir Dar):Bahir Dar University Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital has performed the first voice prosthesis insertion surgery for a 34 years old laryngeal cancer patient.

The surgery is the first of  its kind in the region. The patient had undergone total laryngectomy and bilateral neck dissection three months back for locally advanced laryngeal cancer at this Hospital.

Currently, the patient is doing well and producing esophageal voice!
